CCSF: selective focus

Today in class we covered how to use the schiempflug principal to select a specific line of focus.  This is a bit different from how we used it before (to make everything in focus).  Below is a video that covers those steps again.

Technique in detail:
  1. Compose
  2. Max out focus (try for maximum movement before lens fall off begins)
    1. For horizontal use tilt to max out
    2. For vertical use swing to max out
  3. Check the lens coverage
  4. Use the opposing movement to adjust focus to each end
    1. For horizontal use swing to select the focus
    2. For vertical use tilt to select the focus
